Before I read Maureen Johnson's 13 Little Blue Envelopes I had never really felt the need to travel. I always figured that I could just read about it or see it on TV. But after reading her book second hand experiences were no longer enough. After reading 13LBE I needed to see the world for myself. I have always loved history and I think it's time to see where the most fascinating events took place. Not only do I want to see the wonders the world holds I want to see the worlds that inspired my favorite authors to create their own worlds. I want to find the places I have read and dreamed about. 

I expanded Bookworm Extraordinaire to include my Travels in January 2014 after a professor suggested I write about my planned trip to Europe. He suggested the addition of my love of travel to my love of books because he believed that it might someday help me in my career. After months of thought I decided to go for it. Previously, this blog was solely for my reviews of Young Adult books, but as I got older I didn't just read YA and I found myself neglecting this blog. By adding my Thoughts From Places blogs in addition to reviews of other genres and blogs dealing with broader literary interests I have begun to remember why I started this blog in the first place.
